Back 2 School Campaign

At CRN—we believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Before school starts in the fall, CRN joins with community partners to collect school supplies for homeless children living in Metro Atlanta. Each year, our goal is to ensure that all of the children we serve arrive on their first day of class prepared and feeling like their most confident selves. Our Back 2 School Campaign not only provides homeless children with the critical supplies they need for school, but also offers them something even more valuable: a chance to succeed.

Children’s Restoration Network (CRN) is thrilled to announce some exciting changes in our 2019 Back 2 School Campaign. This year, we will be having a rolling Back 2 School Campaign throughout the entire month of July. Our new strategy moves us in the direction of an interactive virtual campaign, increasing our efficiency and expanding our outreach to more children than ever before. We are excited to launch this campaign into the modern era and look forward to working collaboratively with you on this journey to find better ways to help the children we serve.

Goal for Back 2 School 2019:

new and filled book bags.

How You Can Help:

This year, we are making it easier than ever before for donors and volunteers to purchase new book bags and school supplies for homeless children living in metro Atlanta. Corporations, volunteer groups, and individuals now have the opportunity to order directly online and have school supplies and book bags shipped either to the CRN office or directly to a group home or shelter.

*More details will be available soon.

Stuff The Bus

CRN partners with WSB-TV, Channel 2 for our annual “Stuff the Bus” promotion day. Each year in July, six school buses are placed at different locations across Metro Atlanta to serve as public drop-off sites. People from throughout the community come out to donate new school supplies and book bags—helping us stuff each bus to the ceiling!

This July our goal is to provide over 6,800 homeless children with new and filled book bags. This is our biggest goal yet and with the help of our incredible community, we believe we can achieve it! We hope to see you out there stuffing the bus this year!

Details about specific locations will be announced in June 2019.

Day of Readiness

Our annual Day of Readiness will also be taking on a new look in 2019. This year, CRN has decided to bring the party directly to the children we serve so that as many kids as possible have the opportunity to participate. We will be working with local restaurants, barbershops, and Georgia State University’s School of Nursing to host multiple Day of Readiness events at the larger group homes and shelters in our network. Our goal is to ensure that as many homeless children as possible are able to receive free health screenings, haircuts, and school supplies before their first day of class.
