Jim Cox

President

Jim Cox was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1947. In 1969 he graduated from Purdue University with a BA in History, Social Studies, and Education. In 1989 Mr. Cox moved to Atlanta and began working for a veterans organization. Mr. Cox spent the next two years learning how non-profit organizations function. In 1993 realizing that children and women with children were the fastest growing segment of the homeless population, and woefully underserved, Mr. Cox and Mr. Cliff Kinsey co-founded Children’s Restoration Network to serve metro Atlanta’s homeless children and mothers. Beginning with just one shelter with about seventy children CRN has grown to serve 134 shelters and group homes housing over 3,000 children on any given night. CRN provides a wide variety of needed services to these homes, with a special emphasis on education, including mentoring, providing school supplies and offering New Hope Scholarships. Mr. Cox has served as President of CRN for 23 years.
